Two little birds had a nest in the bush in the rear part of a garden. Five year-old Amy found the nest. It had four speckled eggs in it. One day, after she had been away for sometime, she ran into the garden to take a look at the pretty eggs. To her dismay, she found only broken shells. "Oh" she cried, "the beautiful eggs are all spoiled and broken!" "No, Amy," said her brother, "they are not spoiled. The best part of them have taken wings and flown away." So it is with death. The body left behind is only an empty shell, while the soul, the better part, has taken wings and flown away.
The believer's call to discipleship is incomparably greater than personal convenience and comfort.
Frankly, it is a call to cross-bearing, self denial, pain, suffering and ultimately justification and glorification. It is not a call that is answered on personal whims...yet many Christians and even pastors do not see it as such.
We all as humans would die at one time or the other. In a matter of days, weeks, months or years. It is however shocking as many people would feel its all about what happens here on earth. Big No.
Life after death is either in Heaven or Hell. Need it be to mention, life after death is forever. So why focus on the 85, 90 or 100years you spend on earth when you'll spend much more than that in HEAVEN or HELL. Life here on earth determines where you'll spend eternity.
Where you saved from sin, purified, and consistently walking in holiness and righteousness? Then you have the hope of heaven.
Or you were drenched in sin and evil, you never listened to the warning that "without holiness, no man can see God"? Well, hope you expect nothing less than Hell...a place of pain and everlasting anguish.
One atom of sin is enough to get you to hell...repent of all sins now and forsake them because you know not of the day or hour you would die. Yes, that was blunt...and it is for you own good.
You cannot say you were not warned.
