Be Bold For Christ

Frederick the Great, the agnostic Prussian king had a devout Christian as his most trusted Army General, by name, Von Zealand. In a festive gathering, the king began making crude jokes about Christ until everyone, except Von Zealand, was rocking with laughter. Finally, Von Zealand stood up and addressed the king: “Sir, you know I have not feared death. I have fought and won 38 battles for you. I am an old man; I shall soon have to go into the presence of One greater than you, the mighty God who saved me from my sin, the Lord Jesus Christ whom you are blaspheming. I salute you, sir, as an old man who loves his Saviour, on the edge of eternity.” The place went silent, and with a trembling voice the king replied, “General Von Zealand, I beg your pardon! I beg your pardon!” And with that the party quietly ended.
That is courage – doing what you are scared to do for the sake of your conviction.
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it" (Mark 8:35). When next you find yourself  torn in between the fear of man and a God-assigned duty, will you dare to be like Jeremiah? Be faithful and speak up for the Lord. He will vindicate and preserve you.

Directing Power Of God's Word

There are many preachers today who have relegated the word of God to the background. They, instead, elevated dreams, prophecies and other unscriptural practices in their preaching. No wonder then that there are many churches but righteousness and holy living is fading out in an alarming rate. No assembly can be favoured by God when the word of God is not given the right place. The hardened heart of sinners can only be broken by the power of the word. God wants us to embrace the “wheat” of the word of God and reject the “chaff” (dreams and visions) of modern day pleasure-seeking preachers. The power to deliver from sin and to keep us rapturable can only be found where the word of God is faithfully preached and lived out.
“Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?” (Jeremiah 23:29).

Stop Living On The Death Row

The inmate on death row is reserved unto the day of destruction. The condemned criminal may remain on death row for up to twenty years in some countries, but he is legally dead although made to pass through some routine of prison life for a while. The food may be good in some prisons, but knowing that death hangs at the door will make you loose your appetite to eat.Sinners, like inmates on death row, are liable to be executed unless they receive state pardon. The only pardon that can save us from that terrible life in the lake of fire that awaits every unforgiven sinner is from Jesus Christ our Saviour who took our place in death that we might receive forgiveness and live. You need to accept Him today as your Lord and personal Saviour.

Continue..


A little girl has had a fun day outdoor playing in the mud. After sometime, her parents call her in from the yard and the first thing they required of her is to have a good bath plus change of cloth. Why she is looking dirty. Even though she was wearing one of her beautiful dresses, the fact that she (herself and her cloth) is dirty can’t be overlooked. She gets a wash but goes back into the mud, just for a little while returns her to her former state which is “dirty”. Her parents require her to clean up herself again before jumping on the sofa or lying on the rug, but she insists she had a bath and changed her dress earlier…therefore needs not do that again. Long and short of it all, for her to be clean, she has to birth again.

Many so called Christians on earth are just like this little girl. They think been once cleansed from sin after they chose to be born again means they are forever cleansed. But they forget Hebrews 10:38 “Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him”. This is because the so called Christian is no longer a clean. He/she might still be going to church, be nice to people, stay off further sins and all other nice things, however been stained again means you need to be washed once again in the blood of the lamb by confessing that sin, promising no to return to it and asking for forgiveness.

The ideology of “once saved, forever saved” isn’t supported by the Holy Bible or God. Continuing in God’s commandment is therefore they one and only guarantee of heaven. Luke 9:62 “And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Thinking about the future..

After the mind of a man has been exposed to new reason and purpose, it is hard to return to the former state of mind or just move on without giving diligent thought to it and applying such reason and purpose to the way and manner of he/she is living.
After understanding life the composition and spiritual purpose of the human race, life after death which isn’t for a day, week, year or millennium should make us ponder on the question “where would I spend eternity?” Why do people plan their 80/90years lifespan but the one that is more than a million years, they are ready to experiment with it? Many people literally suffer through some stages of life here on earth just so they can earn money, fame and momentary opportunities but why do they find it hard to sacrifice very little in order to escape unending pain and anguish? It is quite shocking after due diligence has been given to these thoughts.  
If you have given your life adequate thought and have made the right call to do whatever it takes to get to heaven, people would mock you and call you names. But remember that picture and know it is because they have little understanding of the future they face without the hope of Christ.
To have the hope of heaven, you really need to believe in Jesus Christ, his death on the cross and repent of your sins, promising not to return to them again. Further ask God to forgive you and importantly continue to live as Christ wants you to live.

Fasting The Right Way

"Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?" (Matthew 9:14).

Christianity does not equate with legalistic rituals. Instead, it reasonably allows for much simplicity, varieties, flexibility and faith in such a degree that grace provides all things for believers in Christ Jesus. Like other teachings in the scriptures, the doctrine of fasting and its appropriateness in our day-to-day living must be well understood lest we fall into the extremities and fanaticism of man's religion.
The disciples of John the Baptist came asking Jesus "why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?" In answer to their question, the Lord gave a number of illustrations to show the superiority of "grace" over the "law".
Like the disciples of John the Baptist and the Pharisees, many religious people today subject their followers to the rigorous practice of abstinence from food and water as a mark of piety, choosing particular dates, seasons, or times, irrespective of the people's physical, spiritual and emotional disposition. But in Christ, there is no basis for such observances. Instead, fasting accompanied always with prayer, is part of a Christian's normal spiritual exercise. It should then be conducted in such a manner that reflects sobriety, seriousness and sanctity.

When we fast, our souls are afflicted in expression of our helplessness, so that we are able to pray earnestly to God. Great problems and difficulties are solved through fasting and prayer. Such are some of the benefits of fasting that we take delight in, while engaging in it as the need arises.
"Man shall not live by bread alone.."

Efficiency Of God's word

"The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple" (Psalm 19:7).

Man in every generation faces the dilemma of choice: the choice between good and bad, true and false. In no other age than ours is this dilemma more pronounced. Christians too are not excluded from this problem of choice. The true pilgrim is also in a dilemma. Reason: Our age is attended with an uncanny, persuasive power of the wicked.
Man's nature is prone to lean towards the more convenient. The social, broad way gospel acquires status and popularity far above the old narrow-way gospel. The pilgrim's choice is obvious, to lean upon the unchanging word of God which guides him to avoid all known and unknown dangers on his way. A right choice demands a profound thirst and love for God's word on the believer's part.
Christian journey begins when the sinner's darkened, unregenerate mind is enlightened by the pure word of God and the perfect law, which converts his soul as our text today depicts. Armed with the sure testimonies (in the Holy Writ), he is now able to wade through the red-sea, cross the Jordan, confront Jericho, defeat Goliath and defy the persecutions from the enemies of the cross. The pilgrim is able to serve the Lord with clean, not slavish fear. The love in his heart is borne out of holy reverence towards the loving God. The word of God to him is righteous and it becomes joy and rejoicing to his heart. In times of despondency and adversity, the righteous derives his joy not from wine or women but from the word of God (Jeremiah 15:16). He stands before the true and righteous mirror of God's words and sees his true reflection.

He is strengthened and comforted when the righteous word points him to the path of righteousness. The fear of the Lord is our preservative.
When God's word is hidden in our hearts, our meditations are holy and our mouths speak neither ill nor guile of any man. Make it a sacred duty to drink from the inexhaustible fountains of God's word daily.
God's word, like salt, preserves from decay.

Solution to DEATH!!

At one time or the other, people die. Young, old, rich, poor, nice, unfriendly, philanthropic, selfish, sickly and healthy people die around us. Most times, it is very painful to lose a loved one but really nothing you could do about it.
Here's the remedy. Jesus Christ frees us from the power of death, sickness, affliction and oppression of satan.
Romans 6:23 "For the wages of son is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord"

We as humans are given birth to in sin, we live in sin and so die. But the death of our loved one isn't what God see as death; its the actually the decider whether we live or die. Real death is when a soul goes to hell. On the other hand, getting to heaven is life.
How do you then have life??

Its so easy to have Salvation which is also the visa to heaven. However, remember continuous holy living because the Bible says in Hebrews 12:14 "WITHOUT HOLINESS, NO MAN SHALL SEE GOD!"

Simply Protected


As swift as the eagle may be, the chicks under the hen's wings are out of its reach.
No one is insulated from the attacks of the devil. He goes about seeking whom he may devour. It is he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High however that will abide under the shadows of the Almighty. He is kept from the assaults of the evil one. God takes-up the battle of His saints; "..those that have made a covenant with (Him) by sacrifice" (Psalm 50:5).

Storms of adversity may rock their boats on life's sea; they weather through them all because they are in the covenant of blood with the Lord "And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt."(Exodus 12:13).

Look unto Him and live. Lay down your arms at His feet today. He will hide you under the shadow of His wings.
You can only be safe from the devil when you accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, confess and forsake your sins, and desist from doing any evil. Then God would constantly protect you till its time to meet Him in Heaven.

Positive Fear Towards God

It is true that God is loving, depthless in mercy and most forgiving. However, "For our God is a consuming fire" Hebrews 12:29 and "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God" Hebrews 10:31. Therefore, it's safe to say the fear of God preserves from evil.
This fear is different from the type we feel or express. Fearing God makes us abstain from all uncleanliness (also called evil).
Our response to God's warnings will determine our destiny. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the wise foresees trouble and hides himself. Today, opportunity exists for all who have the dread of God and His word to save themselves from sharing in the imminent judgment of God upon the wicked. God has no favourite: "Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Acts 2:21).

Unfortunately, many despise God's warning, to their own peril. "Whosoever comes to me I will in no wise cast away" John 6:37, declares the Lord. Are you ready to heed the call of God this hour? Why don't you cast away pride, arrogance and self-conceit and run to the Lord? He will surely receive you.

The Power of Dynamic Faith

Faith is a very common word in these contemporary days. It’s used by motivational speaker, relationship counselors and even casually among people. However, whatever definition people might give faith, the Holy Bible gives faith its own clear definition. I’m sure it’s for us to be on the same page with God when matters of faith are required. The extent of importance of faith is made clear in Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for He that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
That portion of the Bible is as simple as it has been written.
By grace through Faith we are been saved from sin and the defilements of this world Ephesians 2:8 - 9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Our been nice, good, philanthropic, caring are all good qualities but can’t and didn’t save us from sin.
By faith in God are we sanctified…according to the confessions of Jesus to Saul that became Paul the apostle as seen in Acts 26:18 “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me
By faith are we filled with the spirit of God, and this is physically seen to be manifesting the gifts of the spirit. Galatians 3:14 “That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
The faith of a believer also strengthens us to continuously live holy and pleasing to God; delivers from sickness, and any obstacle on a Christian’s path.

James 5:15 “And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him

Ephesian 6:16 “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked
Matthew 17:20 “And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
The genuine faith is available to everyone that is willing to have it. Salvation, is however needed before the genuine dynamite faith in us can move great mountain. Forsaking all sins (small and big), believing God has forgiven you (baby-step faith) and living consistently off sin is the first step.

"Its just a little sin"

"A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump" Galatians 5:9

A baker baking a bread always adds little yeast in comparison to the size of pastries been mixed. This stresses the effect of the yeast. In time past, leaven refers to yeast and the 'whole lump' is pastry.
Galatians 5:9 is metaphorically expounding the relationship of sin and a christian. The Holy Bible calls true Heaven bound Christian "lump" and the "leaven" is sin. However, true christians should be unleaven. With that understand, Galatians 5:9 is telling us A little sin destroys the whole soul. This emphasises on the potential of just a little sin.
The caution against any scale - big or small - sin is also stressed in I Corinthians 5:6-8 "Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even christ our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth"
Just a little lying, a petty stealing, one time fornication/adultery, an extortion due to desperate need, or jealousy/envy. Whichever sin, no matter the size, it can destroy our white garment of righteousness. We need to remember God is of a purer eyes to behold iniquity. For this reason He sent Jesus Christ to die for us so we won't go to hell. Any sinner found in hell is guilty of not accepting the way out God provided.

Remember: An atom of sin has the potential of sending anyone to eternal damnation- Hell

13 yr old boy rapes his 8yr old sister after watching porn because he 'wanted to try it out'

A 13-year-old schoolboy raped his eight-year-old sister after watching pornography on an X-Box computer console, a court has heard.

The teenager told police he used the games console to view explicit material before he 'decided to try it out'. The boy said he targeted his younger sister because she was small and 'couldn't remember stuff'. At Blackburn Magistrates Court yesterday the boy admitted rape, indecent assault and inciting his sister to perform a sexual act on him.
The youngster, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, has been bailed to live with relatives away from his sister while a pre-sentence report is being prepared.
Fiona Elvines, from the Rape Crisis Charity, said that children accessing pornography was a 'growing concern'. She said: 'This is going to completely destabilise this little girl's life. It will take her a very long time to try and work through. It will have put her life on a different track and I do not want that to happen to anybody else.' Ms Elvines told the Lancashire Telegraph 'For a long time, people have been sitting on the fence and saying we do not have the evidence to say porn is harmful, but now we are starting to have some evidence around young people's exposure.
'How much evidence do you need? It shows that the government's measures are extremely important and that we need to start acting. When children see porn, they have no context for what it is used for. There is pressure on children to be sexualised, particularly on younger boys, to start having sex. 'It is coming from peers and porn.'

Judgement of God is approaching

Many live as if they would not give account for their actions and conducts in this world. Driven by selfish interests, they act as if they no longer have a conscience. They defy constituted authority, they trample on the rights of other people. And most times, they get away with their actions. But it will not always be so: a day of reckoning will eventually come once you shut your eyes in death.
 
"And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them" (Revelation 20:11).
 
On that day, there will be no hiding place for anyone, irrespective of class and status, material well-being and popular acclaim. Once the judgment throne of God is set, all men that ever lived on earth, both small and great, would heed the inescapable summons to appear before God and be judged. All will stand before the Great White Throne to account for their actions and inactions while alive. Those who died in the sea, those who were burnt to death, those who met their end naturally, all will be summoned to appear before the Great Judge of all the universe. He will judge all according to what is written in two sets of books that will be set before Him. The first book to be opened, the Book of Life, will contain the names of all those who did right before God. He will reward them with an eternity of peace, rest, joy and happiness. Everyone else whose names are contained in the second set of books will each be judged according to their evil and wicked acts while here on earth. Anyone whose name is not contained in the Book of Life will be cast into the lake of fire.
 
God's judgment will be different from that of men. No one can bribe or influence his way through it. All wrongs will be justly punished, all rights will be justly rewarded. The time to determine what you receive on that day is now. You do so by how you live, how you relate to others, and how you relate to God. If you have been fumbling in life, rising and falling into sin, or simply nonchalantly enjoying the pleasures of sin, the time to change is now. You must quickly turn away from all those evils, plead with God to pardon and cleanse your past actions with the blood of Jesus.
"It is a fearful thing to fall into the hand of the living God".



Holiness as God wants it

A life where our enthusiasm leads to the lowering of God's standard, such will not be accepted by God.
God sent His prophet to warn us that the laws sustaining evil and giving it a semblance of acceptance "shall be cut off... and fall." God Who is "of purer eyes than to behold evil" (Habakkuk 1:13) has not changed His attitude to sin. Only those who repent of their sins to live righteously and piously will escape His indignation and judgment.
Many people try to be nice, like their neighbors, humble, respect others, pay their taxes, do not promote evil and many other good things. But this is not the holiness God wants. For anyone to be holy in the sight of God, he or she has to be washed in the blood of the Lamb of God - Jesus Christ. How? By confessing his/her sins, determining to forsake them and living in the way of God. Furthermore, he/she needs to be separated from all evil and anything that looks like it.
"1Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
1Corinthians 6:10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God."
God has provided a way from destruction...why not take it and flee from the wrath to come.
Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Revelation 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
That is how the time to come would be...exactly. Do not experiment with your life to find out if Hell and Lake of fire would be as terrible has it sounds. There's no turning back.
Confess all of your sins to God and after that pray "God, I am a terrible sinner who cannot save himself/herself. I need your mercy and grave now. Wash me with the blood of Jesus Christ that was shed on the cross. I believe you have forgiven me according to your word, in Jesus name I pray. Amen"
Then you can try from this day henceforth to live a simple, sincere and serene life, refilling promptly every thought of discontent, impurity and self seeking, cultivating cheerfulness, magnanimity, charity and the habit of holy silence; exercising economy in expenditure, carefulness in conversation, diligence in appointed service and childlike faith to God.

Facing "death" as a Christian.

Two little birds had a nest in the bush in the rear part of a garden. Five year-old Amy found the nest. It had four speckled eggs in it. One day, after she had been away for sometime, she ran into the garden to take a look at the pretty eggs. To her dismay, she found only broken shells. "Oh" she cried, "the beautiful eggs are all spoiled and broken!" "No, Amy," said her brother, "they are not spoiled. The best part of them have taken wings and flown away." So it is with death. The body left behind is only an empty shell, while the soul, the better part, has taken wings and flown away.
The believer's call to discipleship is incomparably greater than personal convenience and comfort.
Frankly, it is a call to cross-bearing, self denial, pain, suffering and ultimately justification and glorification. It is not a call that is answered on personal whims...yet many Christians and even pastors do not see it as such.
We all as humans would die at one time or the other. In a matter of days, weeks, months or years. It is however shocking as many people would feel its all about what happens here on earth. Big No.
Life after death is either in Heaven or Hell. Need it be to mention, life after death is forever. So why focus on the 85, 90 or 100years you spend on earth when you'll spend much more than that in HEAVEN or HELL. Life here on earth determines where you'll spend eternity.
Where you saved from sin, purified, and consistently walking in holiness and righteousness? Then you have the hope of heaven.
Or you were drenched in sin and evil, you never listened to the warning that "without holiness, no man can see God"? Well, hope you expect nothing less than Hell...a place of pain and everlasting anguish.
One atom of sin is enough to get you to hell...repent of all sins now and forsake them because you know not of the day or hour you would die. Yes, that was blunt...and it is for you own good.
You cannot say you were not warned.  

The devil's hard hit on Children today

In many nations, there are no clear-cut policies to govern the affairs of children let alone, identify and sustain godly disposition that will create the enabling environment for them to flourish. Yet, children sometimes constitute over fifty percent of the population.
The resultant error of omission and indeed of commission has produced delinquent, vagabond, wayward miscreants among children who daily pose a threat to society. Worse, there are so-called Christian assemblies with scant regards for the spiritual welfare of children. A trained child today is a treasure tomorrow. However, this is not the position of many religious groups or governments.
 
By considering the lack of attention to the waywardness of the adults which are constantly been observed and studied by children, it is stamped and sealed that modestly, decency and proper up bring of the younger generation is seen as a necessity.
Almost everyone if not all was aware of the explicit sexual content the "Grammy award displayed" just recently, and that's not up to a percent of the woes the entertainment industry spread when we put together the movies, music and comedy. Tools of the devil to destroy the lives of the children include movies and music. From there they learn their manner of speaking and choice of words, dressing, urges towards psychoactive substances and all.   
The evil languages pouring out of the mouth of kids today is just far below admiration. What future do the children have?
The devil uses the must interesting modes to attract and destroy the youths/children. People decry the constant increase in rape, transmission of STDs, among many other unthinkable atrocities but fail to trace the root of it.
 
This is the truth right in front of you...its left to you to accept it and determine a change. Like its said, "you can force a donkey to the river, but you cant force it to drink water."

1Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
The coming of the Jesus Christ is very much at hand and this call for genuine preparedness on our path so we would be caught up with Christ in heaven. Have you ever asked yourself the questions:
Am in washed in the blood of Jesus Christ?
Am in living presently and continually in Christ's commandments?
Is there any sin in my life? (Just a sin has the potential of putting you in hell for eternity)
1Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
1Corinthians 6:10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
The Holy Bible is plan and simple. You don't need to be very brilliant to understand and apply the word of God.
Good works can't save you from hell. They are nice and cool but salvation from sin is the requirement. 
If "good works" would get you to heaven, then Jesus Christ wont have to die on the cross.
